Counselling

People come to counselling for many different reasons. Usually, they have tried to manage their problems and burdens by themselves with varying results. But sometimes, these burdens feel too much to bear and what used to work no longer does. If you are feeling stuck, powerless, and exhausted maybe counselling can help. "You cannot heal what has not been revealed" as the saying goes. Being in an environment where you can express your thoughts and feelings without humiliation, shame, or guilt is the first step in ridding yourself of the burdens that are holding you back.

I have worked with many different clients all of whom are unique in how they experience the world. I specialise in substance abuse disorders and addiction; PTSD and childhood trauma; mens well-being; workplace stress and anxiety. Sometimes we just don't know what's wrong with us, talking it out might just help.

Counselling is a talking therapy that is private and confidential. My role as a therapist is to support you as you explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and experiences in a way that is respectful, non-judging and compassionate. In order for you to take control of you life you need to feel valued and worthy of respect. I work in an integrative way, meaning I adapt my approach to what works for you, after all one size does not fit all. I believe in client autonomy, which means I follow your lead, we go where you want to go.
